To mark the Queen’s actual birthday, JACKfm is to play non-stop music by Queen.
On Thursday 21st April, JACKfm in Hampshire, Oxfordshire and Surrey will only play songs by the British rock band Queen.
Songs that will be included in the Queen playlist are Killer Queen, Bohemian Rhapsody, Somebody To Love, We Will Rock You, Don’t Stop Me Now and Flash.
Programme Director, Mark Tripe, commented;
When we say “We Play What We Want”, we really mean it. There’s no better way to mark the Queen’s birthday than her namesake band.
When questioned how the station would avoid repeating songs between 10am and 5pm, Tripe responded;
We’re including all singles, promotional singles, studio album tracks, live album tracks, box set exclusives, extended plays and tracks where they are a featured artist. That’s over 165 tracks of various lengths. I’m pretty sure we can fill a whole day without any specific repeats.
What isn’t clear to RadiAubergine is if they will be repeating this on Saturday 11th June, which is the Queen’s official birthday.
